In this Popup bar, the enterprising young owners of this mobile drinking establishment put a table inside this old VW bus. A group of customers had crowded in, music was playing, it was a microbar scene in a microbus.
This one used to be public transportation, with bench seating inside. During peak hours, you are practically sitting on your neighbor's lap. (You can still ride these in some parts of the city, minus the adult beverages).
Sergio asked the party crowd if I could take a picture and they said yes, but by the time I got the shot they had all vacated the interior. This is bootleg on wheels - they have no permit to sell beer out of the back of their VW Van, Sergio said they probably weren't as worried about getting shut down and getting hit up by the police for a pile of pesos (and a free Chela) to look the other way.
If you don't know, Micheladas are jumbo beers in a huge cup with lime, spicy salt and sometimes tomato or clamato juice. Very tasty, actually.
